Message from Parish Reverend

As pastor of Saint Bernard Parish I am happy that so many will have the opportunity to receive this message and see the excellence of academic education and Christian care we strive to offer.

I have been very blessed in my ministry as a priest. For all 33 years of my priesthood, I have been fortunate enough to be assigned to parishes with a school. I can't imagine now what it would be like not to have a school family to minister to and with whom to share my priesthood.

Here at Saint Bernard, all of us have been blessed with a wonderful school that I feel has a strong and increasing "Catholic Identity". It is an accredited school whose quality of education continues to rise, and whose quality of education to expand. It is fiscally solvent and carefully managed. We have been blessed with loving parents, caring teachers, and children who can appreciate all that they are being offered. I am proud of the growth of our school and I am grateful that parents have been kind enough to express their approval to me.

To me, there is no more sacred gift entrusted to us than a child. I believe that we must continuously judge ourselves by how well we treat each individual Child of God entrusted to our care. I believe others should judge us by how well we overcome obstacles and continue to grow as a school - in Catholic faith, in academics, and in the care and safety of our children.

Through prayer, I have come to believe that my presence and availability to our children to their families is a big part of what God wants me to do here at Saint Bernard, as a priest and as a pastor. Whether  pass or fail, I intend to continue to try.

I am thankful to our Lord for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful experience. I pray that many more can share in it.
